Year Overview

Beginning to Question in an Academic Context

Fall 2019

This quarter marked my return to academia after a year off and my first steps into college life. While it wasn't without challenges, I was incredibly pleased with my class choices and the experience of college life in the city.

Winter 2020

This quarter I began to engage with the opportunities and resources UW has to offer. I started on my major coursework with the introductory biology sequence, and got involved in clubs and searching for research opportunities.

Spring 2020

This quarter was the first to really be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many other students, I learned online at home. The sudden shakeup of college life was difficult, but I got to spend time with my family—and my 8:30am class was a lot easier without having to walk to class every morning!

Summer 2020

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, I was planning on taking summer classes. Since Summer Quarter was also moved entirely online, it was very similar to Spring Quarter in that I was learning from home. Thanks to a lighter credit load, I managed to get one quarter closer to applying to the biology major, while keeping myself busy and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest summer.
